Spud Review

I am going to get right into this book because there are a lot of details I must talk about. Spud is a funny book and a good book at being that, but otherwise, everything wasn't as good as its humor. Its story is pretty weak because it only tells a days' thoughts and misadventures of Spud and his school's location in South Africa by only a paragraph or two for every single day of the week. Also, Spud's friends are a background most of the time and never actually contribute to the plot. The comedy is the only thing saving this book. From lady problems to not having any jokes, this book is relatable in every sense and is very funny when they are mentioned but otherwise, that's all its got.

One Word

I chose the word thrifty because I believe that I have all these resources lying around and I do not use them to their fullest extent. One of those resources is money. I don't take my time to compare prices most of the time and rather just buy things depending how good they look. Sometimes when I buy products, I might not use the whole thing. One of those products is food. I might eat only half of the apple and throw the rest out when I should have saved it to eat later. The final thing I am not thrifty at most of the time is time. I do not always control my time correctly and therefore, wasting my time on things or not using it correctly. It may not be every time, but it might happen every now and then when it comes to not using my time correctly. In conclusion, I am going to have thrifty as my One Word and I shall do my best to become thrifty.

Alien Feast Book Review

The book that I have read recently was Alien Feast by Michael Simmons. This book by no means seriously take itself seriously. Its story follows a boy named William, his Uncle Maynard and his crush Sophie as they try and save Sophie's parents because they have a virus that will wipe out the alien menace present in this book. One thing that is always mentioned and the book will always go out of its way to mention it is that the aliens when they eat people only leave behind their feet. It always seemed interesting to me that they did that. Anyway, this book doesn't take itself and you shouldn't either if you care to read it and just enjoy the comedy.

I Never Saw Another Butterfly

The poem I chose for my butterfly project was "Sickness" by Franca Bass. This poem tells about a sudden sickness a boy has gott...
